Sunday Morning

11aug2013A new week begins! Have you been staring up at the sky? The Perseid Meteor Shower is peaking right now. I’m looking forward to laying out under the stars tonight and making wishes… rain, rain, go away!

LoveNordicThis morning I’m spending a little time with lovenordic. Honestly, it’s like Samantha Ósk Denidóttir blogs just for me. It’s like having a Pinterest account that pins things for you, and you don’t even have to think about it. I’m a bit nutty for Scandinavian style. A bit, meaning totally. When you’re done browsing through the blog, head on over to Story North, Ms. Denidóttir’s shop. It makes me weak in the knees!

Beast and BrineThis delightful place opened up last winter, right next door to my awesome neighbourhood bakery. Local, ethically raised meat, smoked in-house… oh, the smell as you get nearer, it’s heavenly! Locally sourced cheeses, pickled everything, and made to order sandwiches, prepared on fresh-baked bread from right next door. The proprietors are incredibly friendly, and super enthusiastic about what they do. You can’t beat that! If you ever find yourself in our little seaside community, you must visit Beast and Brine. In the meantime, you can do as I am this morning, and stare at pictures of bacon and sausages on their website.

SmallableWith back-to-school fever starting to take hold, I thought I’d check out Smallable, this morning. This French kid’s e-boutique sells some of the most coveted names in fashion, no matter how old you are: Chloe, Zadig & Voltaire, Stella McCartney and Isabel Marant, to name but a few. They also carry a brilliant range of furniture and decor items for kids, as well as toys and books. They have a magazine, which I’m clicking through at the moment. I mean, I’m looking through this thing, and I’m being made to feel frumpy and un-chic by toddlers and tweens. Grrrreat.

Seriously though, if you have a little person in your life, take a peek at Smallable. The styling alone is worth a boo, and you will undoubtedly find something you like. Here’s a look at their Summer Magazine 2013.
